Ralf Rangnick

So most of us have never heard of this guy until a few weeks ago and let's be honest he has a rather modest CV, yet he gets the man u job out of the blue and now he's the best kept secret you've never heard of? A complete tactical genius and revolutionary, apparently. Was almost England manager when Allardyce got the job, apparently.
Already getting fawned over after a 1-0 home win against Crystal Palace.
Is this just media and big club spin at it's finest?

Just look at the history of Woodward and Ole then tell me who wanted and signed Ronaldo? Just after Ole got his man in Sancho
Nah the commercial benefit of one exceeded the footballing need of the other That technical incoherence will not repeat itself under Ralph Oh and listening to the game, they seemingly played a different style and come the subs, he brought on Elanga This bloke will be his own man

It's going to be interesting with this guy because the problem with Man U is ego's not football. This Ralf guy isn't used to dealing with already established "stars". All his work has been creating stars and getting normal players to do well.
I think Olly realised that half way through so he went for players like James and wan bassika who want to step up. Then he or the board changed direction and started getting names again and he ended up with the biggest name of all and fucked himself!

I follow European football and he, or at least what he is purported to be, is a perfect fit for Manchester Utd I don’t accept that Woodward is ‘useless’ either. He has been promoted beyond his sphere of excellence and has presided over a difficult period without the experience to do so The loss that is inadequately recognised is that of David Gill, who left with Ferguson All told, RR will look to reconstruct the footballing side and have a head coach in place to follow the strategy It will take time, but given that, they will return to the top table

The only thing that concerns me is that Ralf don't fancy Lingard in his squad. So that suits me fine.

One of my mates is a big Man U fan (freely admits he's a glory hunter though so fair enough) absolutely despises Woodward and thinks he's a sham of a CEO or whatever his title is.

No way! I didn't realise you'd changed your name on here. Really glad to hear you're OK. TBH don't worry about it- I'd have gladly paid that money and more for the experience anyway and i know you were in a really dark place so it's not an issue at all. Besides which the original thing was you doing something for a stranger out of the goodness of your heart anyway.
Interesting about Rangnick. To be frank I could just be showing my ignorance of continental football with not knowing a thing about him, but it is funny how he never got a mention and now he's the absolute new messiah! (Apart from the one we've got at West Ham of course)

Man U were hardly convincing in their win. While they have the talent to completely overwhelm Palace, they managed 3 shots on target and were a little lucky to get out of there with 3 points

I think he's the best Man Utd could have got, given who else they were linked with.
I'd be content if I were a Man Utd fan, especially if he stays on in that consultancy role taking over from the useless Ed Woodward.

Half the people will say he is great
Half the people will say he is crap
And on that flip of a coin half the people will be able to say “I told you so” in the hope others see them as football geniuses.
And so football continues on

It's more about what he teaches and how he grows clubs. Plus he took time out to be a family man when people thought he would win everything.

Genuine question, if he is that good a manager how come the biggest job he has had was managing Shalke 10 years ago? I agree with Scorchio, it’s a bit out of the blue

I don't follow European football at all so I've generally never heard of anyone (like players we're linked with etc), but I had actually heard of this chap. He was part of the Red Bull thing they're doing and definitely regarded as being a big part of the success that's had.
How/whether that qualifies him to be Man Utd manager is another matter - although his CV is better than 'I stuck my right foot out in the Champions League Final 20 years ago', so he's a step up on OGS.
Of course, a crap 1-0 win against Palace and he's instantly a media darling. Man Utd innit.

My direct neighbour is a commentator for beinsports. Ex French player and made documentaries in this man. His explanation of the man's abilities as a manager are mental. Taught me fuck loads bout football.
Scorchio. I sorted u paddock passes at F1 for you honeymoon. Then a year later or near enough I was out of my mind in Nice (getting lap tops nicked by Ghurka) and demanded you give me money for the tickets. My wife and I were taking last night about this. I owe you an apolgiy and thanks. I'm sorry.
